Kempton Watch Tip

Pass it on

The record travels where people talk. Share the site, post an image with the police count and its source, or put the numbers on your own page. Nothing here needs an account, and nothing is tracked beyond a count of what was used.

The line below goes with the link; the preview shows the numbers as they stand.

12 women killed in Ekurhuleni since July 2026, police count (4 Oct). The record, with sources: kempton.watch

For WhatsApp Status, Instagram and Facebook. Every image carries the police count with its source, the date it was true, and the site's address. Images carry the date they were true: post the newest.

Remember them

One card for each woman the record names with a published photo, credited to the outlet that published it; and an appeal for each woman not yet identified.

Put it on your site

The numbers on your own page, kept current by the record. Paste the snippet into any page that allows an iframe (WordPress, Discourse, most site builders). Social platforms do not: use the images there.

<iframe src="https://kempton.watch/embed/stats?size=landscape" width="100%" style="aspect-ratio: 1200 / 675; border: 0; max-width: 720px" title="Women killed in Ekurhuleni: 12 by the police count (4 Oct 2026), 13 in the Kempton Watch register." loading="lazy"></iframe>

Or paste kempton.watch into a page that understands oEmbed (WordPress, Discourse) and it embeds on its own. For a plain image, the site card at kempton.watch/cards/site.jpg is redrawn when the numbers change.

For journalists and researchers

  • Every number on the site traces to a quoted sentence and a URL: see how the record is built.
  • The data as JSON: kempton.watch/data/island.json, cached a few minutes, refreshed about every two hours.
  • Ask it questions from an AI client through the MCP server.
  • Credit it as “Kempton Watch, kempton.watch, as of 9 Oct 2026”.

Rules of use

  • Keep the footer: the police count, its source and the date are what make an image honest.
  • Do not crop names in or out, and do not add a name the record does not publish.
  • The map is © OpenStreetMap contributors; the photos are credited to the outlets that published them and are not for reuse on their own.
  • This is an independent record, not the police. If you know something, pass it on: Crime Stop 08600 10111, anonymous, 24 hours.
